Chamberlain, meaning “Treasurer of the Estate,” was inspired by the dignified tradition of entrusting the stewardship of an estate to a gentleman of exceptional character and integrity.

In the 15th and 16th centuries, English nobility and sovereigns employed a chamberlain to oversee their financial affairs. Knowledgeable and well-respected, chamberlains were relied upon for their excellent counsel which ensured the continued prosperity and legacy of the estate. The substantial responsibility of preserving and protecting the nobles’ valuable assets was an honor that was taken very seriously.
